Cutter Suction Dredger;

A cutter suction dredger is a hydraulic machine that uses a rotating cutting apparatus around the intake of the suction pipe called the cutterhead, to break up or loosen materials from the river bed.
A cutter suction dredger (CSD) has a cutting mechanism at the suction inlet. The cutting mechanism loosens the materials and moves it to the suction mouth. The dredged materials are usually sucked up by a wear-resistant centrifugal pump and discharged through a pipe line. Cutter suction dredgers are most often used in geological areas consisting of hard surface materials.
It's hull consists of a main pontoon and two side pontoons, which are easy to dismantle or mount.
The dredgers are powered by diesel engines.

Jet Suction Dredger

A jet suction dredger (JSD) uses a water jetting mechanism at the suction inlet to loosen the seabed materials. The dredged materials are usually sucked up by a wear-resistant centrifugal pump and discharged through a pipe. Jet suction dredgers are most often used in geological areas consisting of loose surface materials.
It's hull consists of a main pontoon and two side pontoons, which are easy to dismantle or mount.
